Thomas Kovacs has mentored celebrity chefs Emeril Lagasse and Paul Prudhomme
TUKWILA, WA, August 30, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Thomas Kovacs, Corporate Food and Beverage Director for the Coastal Hotel Group, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in food and beverage services.
Mr. Kovacs is a food and beverage professional with more than four decades of experience working throughout the United States, Europe and Japan. He has garnered vast knowledge across all aspects of the food industry and specializes in consulting, menu writing, food competitions, television food shows and restaurant ownership. He currently serves as the corporate food and beverage director for the Coastal Hotel Group, which is nationally recognized for its distinctive luxury hotels, lodges, inns and resorts.
Prior to his immigration to the United States in 1964, Mr. Kovacs worked in the food and restaurant industry in Hungary and Germany. In the 1970s, Mr. Kovacs served as the executive chef at the famed Commander's Palace in New Orleans, La. In this role, he mentored young culinary talents and sous chefs, including American celebrity chefs Emeril Lagasse and Paul Prudhomme. Mr. Kovacs also spent nine years as the director of food and beverage services at the Seattle Hotel and Towers, and has received numerous first- and second-place prizes in exhibits and food shows worldwide. . He is fluent in English, Hungarian and Spanish.
