LateRooms.com - Food Fans Await Taste of Amsterdam
Taste of Amsterdam brings a fresh line-up of top chefs and restaurants to the Amstelpark.
AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS, August 30, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Taste Amsterdam, the Dutch city's biggest food festival, is set to return on Thursday September 22nd.
Offering four days of culinary treats and entertainment, the event will feature an elite line-up of the finest restaurants and most celebrated chefs in Amsterdam.
The festival takes place at the Amstelpark, which is located in the Zuideramstel district and can be easily reached using public transport.
Once inside, attendees planning to purchase some food will need to exchange some of their money for florins - the official currency of Taste Amsterdam.
All restaurants and many of the festival's food market exhibitors will accept the coins, with one euro equating to 1.25 florins.
Eateries taking part in this year's event include Momo, Bagna Cauda, Toscanini and Fifteen, which is a continuation of the restaurant brand launched by Jamie Oliver in London.
As well as enjoying selected dishes from Amsterdam's leading menus, food fans can watch chefs provide live demonstrations of their techniques in the Cooking Theatre.
This year's festival programme also boasts a new addition, the Beer Theatre. Here, visitors will be introduced to speciality brews from around the world and learn how to match particular beers with their favourite meals.
Tickets for Taste Amsterdam are priced at EUR12.50 (GBP11) in advance or EUR17.50 on the door.
LateRooms.com recommends a large number of Amsterdam hotels that could appeal to food lovers, including the five-star Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel.
