LateRooms.com - Naples Arts Space Opens Naked Lunch Show
Naked Lunch is the name of a new exhibition that takes the same attitude to reality and fiction as the book and film of the same moniker.
NAPLES, ITALY, December 18, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- An exhibition that takes its title and starting point from the book and film Naked Lunch has opened in Naples.
Guests at Naples hotels can head to the Museo d'Arte Contemporanea Donna Regina (Madre) to view the fourth display in the Spot series, which sees artistic duo Luigi Moio and Luca Sivella blur the lines of reality and fantasy in a similar way to the show's source material.
The exhibition opened on Saturday (December 11th) and will be available to enjoy in the Project Room of the venue until January 24th 2011.
"With Naked Lunch, Moio and Sivelli offer to the public an upsetting and grotesque performance that will possibly make the viewers astonished and annoyed, as soon as double meanings and hidden references come clear," remarked a representative from Madre.
Naked Lunch was written by acclaimed novelist William S Burroughs and turned into a film by David Cronenburg that starred Peter Weller and Judy Davis.
Admission to the venue costs EUR7 (GBP5.90) and the building is open from 10:00 to 19:00 local time every day of the week except Tuesday, when it is closed.
Travellers can get to the complex from the city centre by taking the number 35 bus or using the Metro system and alighting at Piazza Cavour.
