Big Earnings in Bad Economy for AB InBev, MolsonCoors

November 04, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The economy may be struggling, unemployment may be high, beer sales may be falling, but the big beer brewers are doing just fine.
Both AB InBev, which controls nearly half the U.S. market, and MolsonCoors which controls one-third, reported big gains in quarterly profits yesterday.
AB InBev's lineup includes Budweiser, Stella Artois and Beck's. The company's earnings climbed by 9.1 percent in the quarter, despite lower sales in North America and Europe.
MolsonCoors' quarterly profit rose nearly as much, 8.8 percent.
