Majority of UK Restaurants Likely Use Bacteria-Ridden Cloths
A new study shows that a majority of the restaurants in the UK could be using dishcloths that contain a high level of bacteria, including enterobacteriaceae, E.coli, listeria and Staphylococcis.

September 15, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A new study shows that a majority of the restaurants in the UK could be using dishcloths that contain a high level of bacteria, including enterobacteriaceae, E.coli, listeria and Staphylococcis.

Scientists at the Health Protection Agency (HPA) tested 133 dishcloths from 120 restaurants and discovered that 56% of the cloths contained unacceptable levels of the bacteria.

Estimates show that 4.5 million people in England and Wales suffer from a food-borne illness each year.
