Italian Wine Tasting Announced
Italian wines are loved by American connoisseurs, and, at this point, more Italian wines are consumed in the US than Italy itself. This wine tasting offers a gustatory map of Apulia, Tuscany, Piedmont, and more.

PHILADELPHIA, PA, June 25, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Wine lovers thirsting for affordable wine tastings this summer, look no further. The Wine School of Philadelphia's "Great Wines of Italy" takes place June, July, and August. The school's Italian wine expert promises to traverse the lands of Apulia, Tuscany, Piedmont, and more; this wine tasting is guaranteed to satisfy any craving for exploring Italy and its wines.

Experience the wines of Apulia and their offerings of rich red Primitivos as delicious as their American counterparts, the Red Zinfandel. Or the Negro Amaro, a grape that produces some of the best red wines in Apulia. Both wines are fast gaining in popularity in the states due to the quality-to-price ratio they boasts.

Then it's on to Tuscany - home of the Sangiovese grape and the Super Tuscan wines, wines that continue to challenge this area's Old World ethos with the New World sensibilities of innovation, progress, experiment, and modernity. These wines - whether made in the traditional fashion or a progressive one - have been hailed the world over for their intense and satisfying bouquets and flavors.

And no Italian wine class would be complete without experiencing the Barolos, Dolcettos, and Barbarescos of Piedmont. These gorgeous wines can certainly fetch high prices, but one doesn't have to spend an arm and leg to enjoy the earthy perfumed and revered wines of this northern region of Italy.

Italian wines have been enjoying an American renaissance for some time now. More wine shops and restaurants have expanded their Italian listings in direct response to this trend, and "The Great Wines of Italy" culls some of the more authentic wines these regions produce.

In addition to classes conducted at the Fairmount address, "The Great Wines of Italy" will be offered in various venues around town, including Pinot Boutique in Old City, and Morton's The Steakhouse in King of Prussia Mall.
